Plant Design and Piping Layout Education
at the University of Houston

ATTENTION: PIPERS

Did you know that you may have earned college credit for your industrial experience and the technical courses you have already completed - and not know it?!!!.

The University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) offers the only ABET accredited 4 year degree program in PROCESS PIPING DESIGN Engineering Technology in the United States. And the only program that has an affiliation with an international professional organization - The Society of Piping Engineering and Designers (SPED).

If you have successfully completed (passed the exams of) the "Plant Layout and Piping Design" course offered by SPED, UHD will grant you 3 college credits* towards a Process Piping Design Engineering Technology degree. You may also be granted college credit* for your industrial experience for some of the following:

• AutoCad 
• Engineering Graphics and Visualization 
• MicroStation 
• Pipe Drafting I & II 
• Process Piping Design I & II

* The granting of any college credit is subject to an individual evaluation of each applicant.

With a small investment of your time, you can earn an applied engineering degree, and learn "state of the art" technology at the same time. All courses are offered in the evening or on weekends
