Are you SPED PPD Certified?

When choosing among pipers, clients and employers know that Certified Professional Piping Designers (PPD) meet an industry-standard level of skill.

In today's competitive marketplace, the most qualified pipers have the best careers. Their firms receive the most contracts. The Society of Piping Engineers and Designers has established a multi-level certification program for piping design. PPD Certification is designed to meet the specific requirements of the Process Piping Industry.

Designers benefit by documenting their skills and competency, improving their professional recognition, and defining their professional development path, all of which increase their employability at a higher pay.

In the table below, each Level is briefly described, and the steps you need to take are listed along with suggestions for courses you might take to get you to your specific certification. SPED Membership is not required to become PPD Certified. Annual Renewal is necessary to retain your PPD Certification.

Knowledge of equipment and fittings necessary for routing pipe from nozzle to rack to nozzle. See SPED Piping Certification Guide for more details.

either a supervisor or a senior employee. See SPED Piping Certification Guide for more details.

unusual situations did the candidate require assistance or review by a supervisor

maintenance plus years of experience. See SPED Piping Certification Guide for more details.
